A Chicago native, Roland is an active vocal music and percussion educator currently residing in Wicker Park. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University, he participated in a plethora of ensembles, including Men’s Glee Club, Symphonic Choir, Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble among many others, and has performed with said groups in numerous venues nationwide. Upon graduating from Ohio State in 2017, Roland was thrilled to accept a position as a Conductor with Chicago Children’s Choir.
Roland has taught choir and percussion (both concert and marching) in many schools across the Midwest, primarily in Central Ohio and the suburbs of Chicago. He remains active as a performer and clinician, most recently serving as the youngest clinician in the history of the District 230 High School Choral Festival in Orland Park, Illinois. In addition to his work at CCC, he currently holds positions as Director of Percussion for Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and Naperville North High School, as well as a position as Assistant Worship Leader for Urban Village Church, South Loop site. Additionally, Roland spends time serving as music director for various musicals, with his most recent production being Wizard of Oz, for Windy City Performs, a small professional company based out of Jefferson Park.
