I Sing for Change: Mahatma Gandhi’s Spiritual Journey
November 3 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts and Chicago Children’s Choir celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s global influence in I Sing for Change: Mahatma Gandhi’s Spiritual Journey.
Kalapriya’s collaborating artist, Dr. Gowri Ramnarayan, will be working with CCC’s Voice of Chicago, Carnatic vocalists Ms. Roopa Mahadevan and Shiv Subramaniam and other accompanists to convey Gandhi’s spirituality at various stages of his life, through music. This 85-minute program will feature songs about resisting injustice, the importance of community and compassion and ultimately demonstrate Gandhi’s continued relevance today.
The performance is part of the Kalapriya Center’s event series in honor of the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth.
