Fulcrum Point New Music Project: Peace Concert

December 19, 2018 @ 7:30 pm

Peace in Chicago: An Intergenerational Celebration is a festive confluence of new art music, poetry, and hip hop, bringing together mentors and protégées in peaceful aspiration and jubilant affirmation. The World Premiere oratorio “Price of Peace” by The JuJu Exchange led by Nico Segal & Julian Reid (Artistic Director Stephen Burns taught Segal who advises The Burns Twins) with texts by Young Chicago Authors’ Kevin Coval, Jalen Kobayashi & National Youth Poet Laureate Patricia Frazier features Chicago Children’s Choir & Josephine Lee.  Exciting opening acts star Young Chicago Authors Poets, Loona Dae, Ric Wilson & Victor! backed by The Burns Twins. Passionate pleas for peace from the Poetry Foundation Poets CM Burroughs & Ed Roberson complement the premiere of “Americans” by Scott Johnson & “Starburst” by Jessie Montgomery.

This concert is dedicated to the memory of FP founding president & Harris Theater Trustee Judith Neisser.
