Partnering with Chicago Children’s Choir since 1989, DePaul University Community Music Division offers outstanding music instruction to students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in a university setting. The Lincoln Park/DePaul Neighborhood Choir serves youth from the Lincoln Park neighborhood and surrounding areas.
Neighborhood Choir singers perform a number of times throughout the year while learning proper vocal technique, music reading and sight singing skills, and the discipline of singing with musicality, movement and expression.
The Lincoln Park/DePaul Neighborhood Choir has been invited to sing for community functions in Lincoln Park and beyond. The ensemble has performed at the Keshet Rainbow Banquet and annually participates in Caroling on Armitage. Select singers have recently performed in Turandot and La bohème at Lyric Opera of Chicago and Bernstein’s MASS at Ravinia Festival. Members of the Lincoln Park/DePaul Neighborhood Choir have toured throughout the United States including to: Phoenix, Portland and Chicago.
