DiMension is a unique ensemble for young men with changing or changed voices, including those in late elementary, middle, and into high school. This ensemble offers many performance opportunities independently and with Neighborhood Choirs and Voice of Chicago.
Singers learn to understand their own voices through male ensemble singing, solo opportunities, sight reading, and music theory. Training and repertoire are specifically designed to guide young men through the vocal transition, while learning to sing a diverse repertoire with musicality, movement and expression.
Social opportunities such as the annual Rockathon and attending Broadway in Chicago productions together help to develop a sense of camaraderie. Annual performances include the Target Community Concert Series and Paint the Town Red. In 2013, the ensemble went on tour to Kalamazoo, Michigan and performed at the Annual Gold Company Vocal Jazz Invitational. More recently, the ensemble has toured to Indiana and Ohio.
