  • Chalk Festival 2008 to benefit the work of Art Therapy Connection

Saturday, June 7th at Noon

Oz Park in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood – corner of Webster and Larrabee

Chalk Festival 2008 brings the Renaissance tradition of street painting to Chicago.  Now in its 4th year, over 40 professional artists will be donating their time, talents and inspiration to create colorful works of art in chalk.  The sidewalk of Oz Park is subdivided into sponsored squares.  Children, adults, student artists and professional artists fill the squares with their own unique and colorful works of art.  Combined they create a unified community art canvas. Entertainment, music and a host of Chicagoland’s finest performance groups including the Chicago Children’s Choir and the Jesse White Tumblers will amuse all ages throughout the day.  The event is free and open to the public.  All donations support the work of Art Therapy Connection which provides mental health services to at-risk children and teenagers in Chicago Public Schools.  Register to sponsor a square at www.arttherapyconnection.org
