BRYAN JOHNSON
In-School & Garfield Park Neighborhood Conductor     

Bryan Johnson serves as director of the Garfield Park Neighborhood Choir at Off the Street Club, as well as the In-School Program of Chicago Children's Choir. He has been with the Choir since 1997. Born in Chicago, his mother and grandfather come from Jamaica and Barbados respectively. He graduated from Chicago State University and has taken master classes at VanderCook College of Music.

Mr. Johnson is an Assistant Director of Music, pianist and organist for the Trinity United Church of Christ. Through his work with Chicago Children's Choir, Trinity and other choirs, he has traveled to Japan, Israel, Switzerland, Germany and cities across the United States. He also is an arranger and composer with his wife of nineteen years, Joi Buchanan Johnson. He believes that working with Chicago Children's Choir allows him to grow, respect life and be a better human through their gift of music.
